NWA World Tag Team Champions Gene & Ole Anderson return to Georgia in November of 1981 with belts they won in May in the Mid-Atlantic territory.
On May 1, 1981, Gene and Ole Anderson regained the NWA World tag team titles for one last run. I am in the process of compiling a list of their title defenses before they were stripped of the titles in early 1982. Relying largely on the research being done by wrestling historian Mark Eastridge, we will try to log all title defenses the Andersons made in the Mid-Atlantic and Georgia territories.

In a tag team match in Wilmington NC (still researching date) featuring the Anderson Brothers vs. Ric Flair and Wahoo McDaniel, Gene Anderson is severely injured (legitimate) when he is hit with a baseball bat by Ric Flair. Gene is out of action for several months. The NWA allows Ole Anderson to select substitute partners on a limited basis to defend the NWA title with for a short period of time, which include Jim Nelson, Mr. Fuji, Buzz Sawyer, and Swede Hanson.
August 30, 1981 - Toronto, Canada - Maple Leaf Gardens NWA World Tag Team Title Match - Texas Death Match Ole Anderson & Mr. Fuji defeated Ric Flair and Jay Youngblood (Youngblood couldn't answer count)
